Doesn't burn evenly and the smell is subtle

I am a frequent user of candles and started this one with the 2 hour burn and then blow out, cut the wick a little and this candle barely smells (which is good if you want a subtle smell) but it also smokes at the wick when blown out, hiding all traces of aroma anyway.

Summer Rain is only intended to be a light fragrance. The candle needs to be burnt for long enough on the first burn to make sure that the wax is liquid all the way to the edge of the jar, this is important so that the candle burns evenly. The length of time that it takes to make sure the whole top of the candle is liquid before you put it out will be different for every candle.
Hope this helps.
